Atsumi Fish Market is located in Tahara, Aichi Prefecture, near the tip of Atsumi Peninsula.

The sea near Irago has a rich fishing ground as it is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, Mikawa Bay, and Ise Bay. Through the year, the area is blessed with abundant fish and shellfish; it is one of the major fishery areas in Japan. Black seabream, mackerel, beltfish, prawns, squid, octopus, and 100 other kinds of fish are sold in Atsumi Fish Market. Atsumi Fish Market ships not only to neighboring cities such as Toyohashi, Hamamatsu, and Nagoya but also Kanto and Kansai.

Fishermen depart at 5:00AM and bring their catch to the market after 5 to 6 hours. The auction starts at 12:30PM.

Fish are auctioned within the same day. Please come and taste the fresh Irago seafood.
