Origin of the name “Mekkun House”: Mekkun has a lovely face and looks very friendly. His multiple hands and legs represent the flowers’ shoot, vegetables’ shoot, beginning of the town renewal, culture, and industry – he is a symbol of the growing energetic town. “Mekkun House” stands for the house that grows those elements (“Me” stands for sprouts/buds). Mekkun is a mascot of Tahara Mekkun House.
